LOCAL MUSIC NEWS:

ELECTRIC CABARET RAWKS BURLINGTON (SOFTLY)
Yet again the Women's Rape Crisis Center and Big Heavy World join up to bring you another installment of the annual Electric Cabaret to benefit the Women's Rape Crisis Center. The fun takes place on April 27 at Club Metronome in Burlington, with acoustic sets by Jenn Karson and Bad Juju, Helen Keller Music, and the return of Chin Ho!. You can come out and help out a wonderful cause, while sitting in a relaxed candlelight setting listening to some of the the area's best bands. And after the acoustic fun is over, you can get your groove on to DJ Frostee's Danceteria. A good time is sure to be had by all, with all proceeds going to the Women's Rape Crisis Center. Doors are at 6pm and the music starts at 7pm sharp with a $7 suggested donation. (21+). Sponsored by Magic Hat and The Point 104.7FM!

NINJA DEATH SQUAD NEWZ
For all of you who just can't get enough of NDS, they've got some shows lined up for you to go and have a punkin' good time at. You can catch them at the Middlebury Teen Center on April 20th at 6:30 pm with Wreckinghorn, I-7, the Bazookas, and the Food Stamps for only 3 freakin bucks. And you can follow them around until they play the next day, April 20th at Common Ground in Brattleboro with Bow to None, The Right, The Harsh Abrasives and more at 10pm for only 5 bucks. Go, have fun, and check out the Ninja Death Squad website for more news at http://www.geocities.com/ninjadeathsquad

5 SECONDS ADMIRED
Come out and see area favorites 5 Seconds Expired at Higher Ground in Winooski on April 22 with Tree, Scissorfight, Superkollider, and Duncan Wilder Johnson. It's all ages, the show is at 4, so you can get home before your curfew, and keep mom happy. It's the release of Tree's new album, "No Regrets No Remorse" on Burlington pal Wonderdrug Records.

ROB LAROW IS AT IT AGAIN
If you're a Backstreet Boys fan (and I know you are) or a closet case BSB fan, or a friend of the local music scene, you might be pleased to find that Burlington music alumni Rob Larow recently re-mixed a BSB song by the name of "The Call". It's on a promotional DJ vinyl for all of you beat boys (and girls) to scratch along with, or spin at your leisure.

YOU WANT HARDCORE....WE GOT HARDCORE
If you like to let your adrenaline do the talking for you at a show, here's one for you to check out. May 15th at Higher Ground with Problem Box, One Year Experiment, Downslide, Company Front, Prisoner 13 and 7th Rail Crew. Doors are at 3pm, bands start at 4 pm, and all it will cost you is $8.

UPCOMING 242 MAIN SHOWS

BIG HEAVY WORLD THANKS
This time around we would like to thank Mr. Alex Tripp for fixing our PC (again); Jim Hadeka for coming in to help with booking even though his internship is technically over; to all four bands in advance for playing the Big Heavy World benefit show on April 26th (Wreckinghorn, Blind Luck, the Bazookas, and Skasquatch); Dave Bishop for helping us poster for the BHW Benefit and the Electric Cabaret; Kyle Rose and Emily Santillo for joining the crew; and last but not least I would like to thank me, Joe Atherton, for being my inspiration because without me, I couldn't have done it. This will be the last Newzrag that I write, and I thank you all for reading over the past year and a half.
