Also Jack White. I watched a video of him playing slide on an old Son House song called "Death Letter". I thought it was a parody video like the ones of "Clapton shreds, Yngwie Shreds etc.......Once he started singing, I was horified to find that it was real! Wow, he really can't play.


Also, I don't get Scofield. I know he's good, I'm not disputing that, but I don't really dig on his style. It is too choppy for my tastes. I just don't like to listen to him.

I think Kirk Hammett, though maybe overrated by the common idiot at no fault of his own, has written some very memorable solos. To me, the solo in the intro to Fade To Black is stellar, it fits perfectly and I'll bet just about anybody reading this can sing it in their head! He's also the guy who came up with the Enter Sandman riff. I don't care what anybody says, that tune, and particularly the mood of that intro, is top notch. It's a metal tune, and it's not an international hit by accident. He does not deserve to be rated so high in all of the magazines, but I think he also catches more heat than he deserves.
